Angular vs. Linear Velocity

So I am teaching a unit on angular velocity. As I was preparing, I remembered a great Calvin and Hobbes comic strip where Calvin's dad blew his mind by pointing out the difference between angular and linear velocity.

I found the strip via the website AMU Reprints (www.transmogrifier.org is also great). I am going to print it out and give it to the kids. I hope that it will engage their curiosity and that my lesson will help them so that they do not end up like Calvin. This site discusses the fair use of comic strips in the classroom.

There is actually a really rare official text book out there called Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes (at amazon), but it is ridiculously expensive and doesn't appear to have too much to do with the math that I will be teaching. There are a few pictures of its contents at this site. Also, I didn't know, but they have come out with a complete collection of Calvin and Hobbes called The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. I want it.

I would love to initiate more of my classes in this manner. Any one out there have other favorite math related comic strips?
